Let me tell you a secret about a Father's Love...

I apologize for not posting  the past 2 weeks. We have been in the middle of camps and then I took a few days to relax and recharge the batteries. In honor of Father's Day 2 weekends ago I wanted to write about one of my favorite songs. "Love Without End, Amen" by George Strait. This song is very special to me because those of you that no me well know that I'm super close to my dad and he took Suzanne and I to see George Strait several years ago in Nashville. I remember him singing this song and dad looking at both of us saying how much he loved us....I'm so blessed to have not only my Father in heaven, but a father here on Earth that has been such a wonderful role model of how to live, to give and guide us in all we do.

In our world today, people may have many Father figures. Some are not fortunate to have their dads around, some have step fathers, some have men in their lives that they look up to for guidance and advice. We all have one Father, though, that is there for us no matter what. Our Father in Heaven who cares for us, forgives us when we fall short and as the song says loves us with no end. He never leaves us, His fellowship is free and He wants to spend time with us. Never doubt that love He has for us.

As I took some time off, I thought alot about life and how certain situations happen that enable us to remind ourselves of how great Our God really is. It's never on our time, but His time. He puts people in our lives, He directs us to follow certain paths and He is always there walking beside us helping us to discover the meaning of each of these. So as you go through your summer days, take time to enjoy your family, your friends and most of all your Father who loves you without end, Amen.

The best kept secret in America...

This topic is a little off the ordinary of my blog, but it's a place that's very dear to my heart.
As many of you know my family has been going to Orange Beach, AL for a long time now. It's a vacation spot, a place to recharge the batteries and a place my dad says will add 10 years to his life.
All of us need a place we enjoy going to relax and to get away from the every day hustle and bustle that we so often find ourselves in much of our lives here on this Earth.

I was recently was there for Memorial Day weekend. It was a great weekend. I participated in the Color Run, went to the Lady Antebellum concert and attended the Flora Bama Worship on the Water service on Sunday. If you have never been to the Wharf to a concert it's a must go. It's a unique little venue where you don't have a bad seat in the house. I've been to several there and always look forward to seeing who is performing while I'm there. The Flora Bama is mostly known as a party hang out, but they put on one heck of a praise and worship service on Sundays. I wish I lived down there so I could go every Sunday. It's so refreshing to go to church where everyone speaks to everybody they don't even know, they don't care what you look like and you walk away on fire for the Lord.

As I was driving home on Monday morning, I thought to myself what a great place this is. I've met so many neat people that live down there and have met some awesome people who own condos where we have one. If you've never been to "LA" Lower Alabama, you need to plan a vacation there soon. Great food, friendly people and beautiful beaches to soothe the soul. As my good friend and I always say when we are down there....."TITL" This is the life!!  Here's to OBA.....I hope to live there one day!
It truly is the best kept secret in America...And yes there is a beach in Alabama!
